Fine Fools Community

One of the sites that I am going to put a major focus on in the upcoming weeks is Chef Vault. The team over there has been doing a bangup job posting their recipes and other food tips. They don’t receive a great deal of traffic and that falls squarely on my shoulders. Now that some of the sites in this Network have got their momentum going it is easier to take focus away from them and help out the smaller blogs that deserve to be recognized just as much, if not more.

So with that I ask that if you are a reader of Chef Vault you head on over to the Accidental Hedonist and nominate them for the best Group Blog and New Blog if you feel they are deserving. By the time voting starts you can be sure they will have their new template up.

In a closed doors meeting with leading Democrats, and Paul Scrivens I have agreed to blog and blog often over here. And Scrivs will lift the suspension. In an effort to distract the liberals, and confuse the conservatives. While this isn’t my usual self maybe it will keep the comment whores from inciting a riot on the blogosphere. And burning down Scrivs mansion.

When was the last time a few readers got Jacked? A few seconds ago.

Having Sexerati on Fleshbot yesterday and then Damn I’m Cute on there today has not been kind to the server. Actually my shitty programming hasn’t been kind to the server. This isn’t about growing up too fast or whether I should pay the writers of Fine Fools or not (they pay themselves right now with the income from their sites). This is about me trying to create a network on a Microsoft Access Database…Access 97 no less! I have made some minor changes which should help, but I can’t upgrade to Access 10 till this weekend so please bear with us. I have to wait for my mom to hand over my allowance.

To all Fine Fools writers: Feel free to egg Cowboy’s house this weekend to get back at me.

I would like to wish all my writers and readers a Happy Thanksgiving. Hopefully the writers remember they aren’t supposed to write on holidays, but some will probably sneak something in anyways. Time for more fun tomorrow.

9rules Round 3 is upon us.

About Weblogs merges with b5media and I think Shai and Co. missed a golden opportunity with us a couple of months ago. Oh well.

Tomorrow a Fine Fools site will be joining the 9rules Network. Shouldn’t be too hard to guess which one. Hell you know what? I think two are actually going to join the Network since they have been doing such a fine job.

If you have been wondering what I was talking about the other day about being busy working on other things this is what I was talking about. Now that 9rules 2.0 is out the door, it’s time to bring more focus to Fine Fools and hopefully you get the idea of some of the things we have in mind for this Network.

If you’ve never been to 9rules before, please check it out and browse our member’s sites. We think we have a good thing going on over there and hopefully you agree. Now, back to Fine Fools.

Going to be a slow day with light posting around the network. Expect things to ramp back up on Monday and maybe some more site launches next week. Those were quite possibly the two most exciting sentences you will read in the blogosphere today. Remember them.

The first week of Fine Fools is almost up and we finish off with a bang. It’s Useless got linked up by TotalFark.com today. TotalFark is the members area of Fark so the traffic isn’t as immense as it would have been if it was posted on Fark’s homepage, but exciting nonetheless.

So we have links from Joystiq and TotalFark in the first week of this community’s existence. Not bad and we aren’t even rolling yet.

Gardgy should pickup next week as writers start moving there and that means every site, besides Work Boxers and Movable Phone, will have writers on them besides me.

All writers in the community only have a couple hours left to get their entries out for this week because as stated in the Writing Standards writers can not publish on the weekends.

Checked the logs for Damn, I’m Cute and found that someone had found the site with the search term “jenny mccarthy pees herself“. After doing the search myself I was surprised to see that DIC (don’t know if I can keep using that acronym) was ranked #25. I’m sure that won’t last too long and will quickly dropout of the rankings, but it’s nice to see which entry in the community got the first search engine hit.

I can’t remember ever having linked to the site before from my other sites, but it already has a PR of 5. I’m not complaining.
